From pistachio-green and buttery-yellow to bubble-gum pink, pretty pastel hues are everywhere for spring and they’re a brilliant way to inject a little life back into your winter wardrobe.

It’s no surprise that January can be rather a depressing time of year. The holidays are over, the weather is grey and miserable, and trying to find a way to dress for sub-zero temperatures when you’re bored of everything in your wardrobe can be a little challenging, especially when last year’s firm fashion favourites suddenly feel a little stale. However, instead of wallowing in despair, why not counteract the January blues by brightening up your look.

Need to lift those white tailored trousers? Add a lilac jumper. Got a checked jacket that you need to revamp? A cream pleated skirt will cut through the formalities. Unsure what to team with your black leather midi skirt? A baby-blue shirt could be your go-to styling solution. Whatever the wardrobe dilemma, a few pastel pieces are sure to equate seriously stylish results.

Now before you worry about pastel hues bringing an overtly girly spin, there’s a cool way of wearing candy-coloured tones. Adding a little sharp tailoring and sticking to a sartorial shape will balance out these overtly feminine colourings. Alternatively, throw in a few hard accessories such as a pair of black over the knee-boots or a bucket bag to toughen up softer styles. However, for those that prefer a minimalist spin, teaming your ice-cream shades with a palette of camel and white will lend a sophisticated take.

Whichever way you choose to wear them (and trust us, it’s hard to go wrong), these power pastels are sure to give any of your favourite staples a new lease of life. Check out our favourites below…
