The holidays are well and truly officially over. However, before you pack away your partywear for another year, there’s no reason why you can’t rework those statement pieces into your everyday look. Our advice, don’t bin it, spin it! Who said you can’t wear sequins long into the new year? Here’s how to do it.

Luxe Tux

Did you invest in a statement velvet blazer or a sartorial suit jacket? Then get ready to dress up your denims. This fitted wardrobe classic need not be saved for best as it will work wonders over a simple tee and high-waisted mum jeans.

Day Dressing

Who said that pretty party frock needs to be saved for best? During the transitional months, simply team it over boots and tights, or a polo neck jumper if it’s a sleeveless slip. Then when the weather warms up a pair of summer sandals and a raffia bag will dress it down for every day.

Statement Skirts

If you relied on a sequinned slip skirt or a pleated midi to see you through the party season, then you’ll be happy to hear this statement number can easily be worn into the new year too. The key is to keep it tonal, and team it with an oversized jumper of a complementary hue. It’ll blend together the smart/casual dress code perfectly.

Party Feet

Before you hang up your glass (or glittery) slippers, don’t forget, there’s an easy way to work your party shoes into your everyday attire. The clue is to add in sensible separates. From distressed denims and a tailored longline coat, to a pair of wide-leg cords and a simple white shirt, teaming those dance-ready platforms or pretty peep-toes with something less eye-catching will elevate any ensemble. January blues be gone as this will put a spring in your step!

Bring On The Bling

Invested in a pair of oversized chandelier earrings or a statement necklace? Then sporty separates are now your best friend. It’s all about balancing out the over the top with the understated. For example, an oversized hoodie and a pair of joggers will look amazing when teamed with something sparkly, especially when worn in an ultra-urban setting. This practical styling hack will add just the right amount of sports luxe to your look.
